Markets of Melbourne have joined to launch Market Week across Prahran, Queen Victoria and South Melbourne Markets. It will be a week long celebration of activities for the whole family designed to give visitors a taste of market life. Each market will conduct tours, kid's activities, cooking classes and demonstrations plus there will be entertainment and frivolity.
The main event will be a 'Market Cook Off' where traders from the Prahran Market cook off against each other for the right to challenge the other two markets. We will be running a series of heats to see which stallholder can claim to be Prahran Market's best chef. In a grand cook-off between Queen Vic, Prahran and South Melbourne Markets on Sunday 9 October, the winner will be crowned the best Market chef in Melbourne.
